Additional FTP points to note

  • The file size limit for FTP is 10 MB (10485760 bytes).
  • For FTP XML, it is possible to call multiple <request> entities within a <requests> tag. For example, it is possible to upload multiple sales order entities within a single XML file.
  • When picking up Push files from the FTP server, for some services, such as Push Stock Status Movement, it is important to read the files based on the order in which they were created (Oldest first).
  • It is recommended that files are not deleted from the FTP server. Instead, they can be stored in Archive, for historic purposes and if the file was incorrectly processed and was required again. Alternatively, files can be re-pushed from the Activity Monitor on the iHub.
  • For large files, this is best uploaded in batches to make the handling of errors easier, and to speed up the processing time.
  • An XML entity cannot start with an empty tag. For example: <DeliveryDetails><FirstName/>
